The cynic is one who never sees a good quality in a man, and never fails to see a bad one. He is the human owl, vigilant in darkness and blind to light, mousing for vermin, and never seeing noble game. The cynic puts all human actions into two classes openly bad and secretly bad.

Throughout the day, try to remember God more often. If you feel bad, turn to Him: "Lord, I feel bad, help me." If you feel good: "Lord, glory to You, thank You for this joy." If you are worried about someone: "Lord, I am worried about him, help him." Whatever happens, turn it into prayer.
Ambrose of Optina
God is nearer to us than any man at every time. He is nearer to me than my raiment, nearer than the air or light, nearer than my wife, father, mother, daughter, son, or friend. I live in Him, soul and body. I breathe in Him, think in Him, feel, consider, intend, speak, undertake, work in Him.
