Joseph the Hesychast quotes

Every thought that brings despair and heavy sorrow is from the devil. (Joseph the Hesychast)
God is everywhere. There is no place God is not... You cry out to Him, ‘Where art Thou, my God?' And He answers, ‘I am present, my child! I am always beside you.' Both inside and outside, above and below, wherever you turn, everything shouts, ‘God!' In Him we live and move. We breathe God, we eat God, we clothe ourselves with God. Everything praises and blesses God. All of creation shouts His praise. Everything animate and inanimate speaks wondrously and glorifies the Creator. Let every breath praise the Lord! View quote

Don't be sad, my child. Don't worry so much. Even though you have fallen again, get up again. You have been called to a heavenly road. It is not surprising for someone running to stumble. It just takes patience and repentance at every moment. View quote
Joseph the Hesychast
When grace comes, all the schemes of the evil one cease, for it abolishes them. It comes like a gentle breeze, like a subtle, fragrant zephyr which deadens the flesh and then raises the soul. It enlightens our nous. And in the end, when it comes, grace itself teaches a person. View quote
Joseph the Hesychast
As soon as you open your mouth to call her, she hastens as a true mother. Therefore, don't hesitate to call upon her at every moment, and you will find her an unmercenary helper and physician in your afflictions. View quote
Joseph the Hesychast
God always helps. He always comes in time, but patience is necessary. He hears us immediately when we cry out to Him, but not in accordance with our own way of thinking. You think that your voice did not immediately reach the saints, our Panagia, and Christ. On the contrary, even before you cried out, the saints rushed to your aid, knowing that you would call upon them and seek their God-given protection. However, since you do not see beyond what is apparent and do not know how God governs the world, you want your request to be fulfilled like lightning. But this is not how things are. The Lord wants patience. He wants you to show your faith. View quote

I cannot describe to you how much our Panagia likes chastity and purity. Since She is the only pure Virgin, She wants and loves everyone to be like that. As soon as we cry out to Her She rushes to our help. You don't even finish saying, ‘All-holy Theotokos, help me' and at once, like lightning, She shines through the nous and fills the heart with illumination. She draws the nous to prayer and the heart to Love. View quote
