Dhul-Nun al-Misri was an Egyptian Sufi mystic and one of the earliest theorists of Sufism. Renowned for his deep spiritual insight and his contributions to Islamic mysticism, he is often credited with introducing the idea of ma'rifa (gnostic knowledge) into Sufi thought.
