Strabo was an ancient Greek geographer, philosopher, and historian, best known for his influential work "Geographica." His writings provide valuable information about the world as known to the Greeks and Romans. He greatly contributed to our understanding of ancient geography and the cultures of his era. There remain of Europe, first, Macedonia and the part of Thrace that are contiguous to it and extend as far as Byzantium; secondly, Greece; and thirdly, the Islands that are close by.
